So
this me then, James Masterton. Somehow I've avoided updating this page
for about three years, but given that the only place you can access it
seems to be via my Wikipedia entry it hasn't exactly been a priority.
Still, most of the text in that piece is sourced from here so it makes sense to make sure things are reasonably up to date.
I'm 33 years old (as of early 2007). I live and work in London and somehow manage to hold down a variety of jobs all at once.
My
day job is as a producer for a well known national radio station. I
gave up a long time ago being coy about exactly who for so there are
enough clues and outright statements in the main text of the site.
Nonetheless, given that I don't write in any official capacity for them
it makes sense just to say, if you want to find out who I work for then
it is a fairly simple matter to do so. I'm npt telling you here however.
I've
also been writing about the UK singles chart online since 1992. From
humble beginnings on usenet I've grown to headline columnist for
websites such as dotmusic.com and more recently Yahoo! UK Music. On the
back of this I've made several media appearances - appearing on Channel
4's "100 Worst Pop Records" back in 2004 and my words of wisdom can
often be seen on the BBC website when they phone me up for a quote or
two.
The one other person who gets frequent mentions here is
Mila. She is my other half and is Ukrainian which means she is
absolutely adorable and the sort of person you would move heaven and
earth for and which also gives my friends and colleagues to make lots
of mail-order bride references. All of which are of course hilarious.
She serves as a sounding board for every mad project and insists that I
don't leave the house wearing socks with holes in them. She also puts
most of the obsessions of my own life into perspective. I should pay
her for that really.
